Some of you enjoyed the World Series game 1 last night, and I'm sure there are those who did not. Either way, you get to peer into the shadows and see if you see what I see.
BTW, before I get the shadows, I need to RANT. The checklist for Topps Holiday is out and although it looks like the set may look even better than last year they went and did it again with MORE and I mean MORE parallels. They added chrome plus 10 chrome parallels to the other additions totaling........ DRUM ROLL.......27 parallel to the base. I remember when this set started just a few short years ago, there was one just one parallel. They also have added a parallel to the variations. UGH!
I see a one legged ghoul (Halloween is just around the corner).
I see a ping pong player getting ready to slam one over the net. Enjoy the weekend all!

I hate parallels. I only collect base set and inserts. I can't imagine the impact parallels have on a player collector or a team collector
ReplyDeleteEven with photos to compare to I'm sure that I would struggle trying to figure them out. I have a few in my collection right now from various years. I see a kicker from my electric football game from my childhood. I see a character from a Sci-Fi movie. I see a pickleball player. Have fun everyone!
ReplyDeleteSomehow I don't think I've ever noticed what can come from the shadows of a baseball card. Mitch Williams really does look like a ping pong player.
ReplyDeleteTo me, the shadow on the Tino card almost looks like a sort of profile of a Battle Droid from The Phantom Menace...
ReplyDeleteI was going to say that! And I usually can't see anything in the shadows either.
DeleteSame!
Deletea. didn't see anything in the whole shadow, but the glove shadow reminds me of a swan's head
ReplyDeleteb. battle droid (from Star Wars)
c. at first I was thinking something like Wimpy (from Popeye) crying over a burger, but I like your ping pong player better
27 parallels in Topps Holiday = another money grab
ReplyDeleteAs much as I have enjoyed Topps Holiday over the years... it's slowly losing its luster with me.
