Splurge, the Final Episode!

Here we go, the bulk of the splurge with my buddy Bob. We have to do what we can to keep the local folks in business, and Bob is the closest thing to a trust worthy card dealer in my immediate area. The only brick & mortar store is CRAP! She no names mentioned, not my style, is totally out of her mind. I recently had to kill some time before lunch a couple weeks back, stopped in her place browsed around, nothing had changed. I moved some things around to get to some old minor league programs that were on a bottom shelf covered in 5 years of dust and a Canseco binder full of 90s base dupes. I dug them out dusted them off. Asked her how much for the lot, she actually looked them up online, took 30 minutes, and then wanted $15.00 for the Canseco binder (apx 80 cards), $15 each for 3 of the programs, and $20 each for another 3. FORGET IT!  I left, and have NO plans of returning for anything.

Back to the show, that is why you are here.

The teaser from yesterday.  And yes, although I collect relic cards I will gladly trade them for a Braves relic.  The Willingham is set aside for JBF already.

A dual auto relic card that makes a nice transition to the autos I picked up.

A double dip auto and a bat barrel auto.

For the most part I hadn't heard of  a lot of these guys hence why they were just gathering dust in a box behind the shelf for all of these years.  Although there are a handful of recognizable names......

This one should be known by all.  The autos are like the relics, I will trade them for an equal Braves auto providing I don't already have one.

Tomorrow is Franken Friday and on Saturday I will begin the next series of posts commemorating last Saturday (June 6, 2015) which was the first card show I attended in over twenty years.

  1. Very nice! I would be interested in that Boof Bonser relic card - I will be sure to add a Braves relic to the next package I send in your direction. The first Alexi Casilla (at the plate) is interesting too. I will see if I can find a good Bravo Auto to match up with that one.

  2. In fact, after looking at the entire package you sent, consider both Casillas', and the Boof done! Out tomorrow.
